Bestnet HDMI Switch takes up to 3 separate HDMI inputs and switches between them to produce a single HDMI output. Connect sources such as DVD or Blu-Ray to the inputs using HDMI cable of up to 5m in length then connect display equipment such as a TV or projector to the output using HDMI cable. The HDMI will extract the audio from the active HDMI input and send this to the optical SPDIF output or the stereo RCA sockets on the switch, for connection to a separate amplifier or surround sound decoder. Various audio formats can be selected up to 5.1 channels (when 5.1 is selected the amplifier must be capable of decoding DTS or Dolby-AC3 modes). The HDMI supports 4k x 2k as well as 1080p HD including 3D. It also supports the audio return channel.

» Three EDID settings : 2.0CH: 2CH PCM stereo audio can be converted to 2CH analog stereo and output through RCA L/R and SPDIF at the same time. 5.1CH: Set EDID to "5.1CH" for Dolby Digital / DTS to output audio via SPDIF out. The RCA L/R output will not have sound if incoming audio is multi-channel audio (>2CH). PASS: The HDMI output has identical video and audio signals as the HDMI input. HDMI supports all audio formats including Dolby Digital Plus, 5.1CH/7.1CH PCM and HD Audio (including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio). For these audio formats, set EDID to Pass", and connect HDMI output to AV receiver directly.
